If I use a less expensive fabric, will that reduce the cost in the bids I am seeing?

In some cases, yes. If you have a Showroom or Brand Pro membership plan, the factory may list different fabrics that they can use to make your design inside their bid. You will see the difference in prices between each fabric for sampling and production. If you are on a MV Essentials or MV Choice plan, your bids will only list costs for the fabric you specified in your design listing.

If you have a Showroom or Brand Pro membership, and you only see one type of fabric written in your bid, you can message your account manager to find out if there are other fabric options available for your specific design and budget.
